Fit India’s flagship fitness program, Sundays on Cycle (SoC), saw a successful return in New Delhi with over 1,000 participants, including 500 Young Leaders, braving the 6-degree cold for a fitness festival and Cycle Rally led by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya. The event featured sports icons like Leander Paes, Pullela Gopichand, and wrestler Shivani Pawar.
Young Leaders from across India were highlighted during the 56th Fit India Sundays on Cycle event, coinciding with the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue. In Bhopal, a significant event was graced by Madhya Pradesh’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Vishvas Kailash Sarang, and Olympian judoka Garima Choudhary.
Union Minister Mandaviya emphasized the importance of a healthy body for strong leadership, with Gopichand praising the initiative’s focus on integrating fitness into daily life. Tennis legend Paes commended the community aspect of Fit India, stressing the need for collective fitness efforts for both physical and mental well-being.
The event featured various activities like Zumba, yoga, Mallakhamb, and rope-skipping, with Fit India Ambassadors sharing winter fitness tips. Families found the multi-activity event a perfect Sunday morning outing, promoting a healthy lifestyle for all age groups.
In Bhopal, Sports Minister Sarang echoed the ‘Fit India, Hit India’ mantra, lauding the cycling movement’s nationwide impact. The event attracted over 1500 participants, showcasing the growing interest in fitness among citizens of all ages.
Actress Payal Rohatgi highlighted the awareness raised by events like Fit India Sundays on Cycle, emphasizing the potential for nurturing future sportspersons. The presence of various athletes added sporting inspiration to the event, underlining the importance of physical fitness in nation-building and leadership.
