Telugu Desam Party’s national President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the party truly represents the aspirations of Telugu people. Celebrating the 44th foundation day of TDP, he extended his wishes to all members of the ‘TDP family’. Naidu highlighted the party’s commitment to NTR’s principles of providing for the underprivileged.
TDP general secretary and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh reiterated the party’s core values of self-respect and empowerment for Telugu people. He praised the late NT Rama Rao for his vision that society is a temple and people are gods. Lokesh credited TDP for giving a voice to the marginalized and bringing them social and political recognition.
Lokesh further emphasized TDP’s legacy of pioneering welfare initiatives in the nation. He congratulated everyone on the party’s founding day, underscoring TDP’s mission to elevate Telugu people globally. The TDP, founded in 1982 by N.T. Rama Rao, has a rich history of championing Telugu self-respect and rapid political success.
On March 29, 1982, N.T. Rama Rao established the TDP with a focus on Telugu self-respect, leading to a swift rise to power within nine months. Following NTR’s tenure, Chandrababu Naidu took the reins and guided TDP to governance in Andhra Pradesh. Despite political shifts, TDP remains a significant force in the state’s political landscape.
