Another five civilians have allegedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, as reported by a prominent human rights organization. The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department highlighted cases where individuals were taken by Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department and Frontier Corps in separate incidents.
Expressing deep concern over the escalating enforced disappearances in Balochistan, the rights body urged Pakistani authorities to reveal the whereabouts of the missing individuals promptly. The incidents involved civilians being taken from their homes in late-night raids by security personnel.
The rights body strongly condemned the enforced disappearances of several young individuals, including students and a driver, across different districts in Balochistan. These incidents have raised alarm over the continuous targeting of Baloch students and youth through such actions.
Amid these reports, the rights body also denounced the targeted killing of a young man by Pakistan-backed death squads, emphasizing the ongoing violence and loss experienced by Baloch families in the region. Balochistan remains under severe strain due to the alleged atrocities committed by Pakistani forces, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.
