Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East due to Israel-US airstrikes on Iran, flight operations to parts of the Gulf region have been disrupted. Many people from Rajasthan, including a group of astrologers from Deeg district, are stranded in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Flights from Jaipur to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah have been canceled, with Jaipur Airport issuing advisories for passengers traveling to Gulf countries.
More than 100 students and residents from Jodhpur, Kota, and Sikar are stranded due to flight cancellations caused by sudden airspace closure. Some passengers were moved to nearby hotels after their flights were canceled. Reports suggest that a few stranded students heard explosions near the Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports.
Siddharth Jain, a student from Kota, mentioned that a missile fell near his hostel in Dubai’s Academy Educational Zone. Another student, Tanya from Kota, is stranded in Abu Dhabi while returning from Canada. Around 120 pilgrims from Jodhpur are also stranded in Abu Dhabi after attending a religious discourse in Dubai.
Former CM Ashok Gehlot has urged the Union Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safe return of stranded individuals to India. Jodhpur businessman Gajendra Mahiya, who traveled to Dubai on February 23, is also among those stranded. All affected passengers have appealed to the Government of India for safe evacuation.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as stranded passengers await updates on flight resumptions and evacuation arrangements. In a separate incident, members of the Shia community in Ajmer held a procession following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, burning effigies of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
