Flight operations at Pune Airport were temporarily suspended following an Indian Air Force aircraft’s undercarriage failure during landing, which left the runway unusable. The incident occurred late on Friday, leading to a halt in all flight movements. Fortunately, the crew onboard the aircraft remained unharmed.
Repair and clearance work was promptly carried out throughout the night to restore normalcy at the airport. Departure flights resumed at 7:30 A.M., with arrival operations recommencing at 8:00 A.M. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol acknowledged the situation, assuring that air traffic in Pune would gradually return to normal.
The Indian Air Force confirmed the temporary unavailability of the Pune airport runway due to the aircraft incident. They assured that efforts were underway to operationalize the runway and resume normal operations promptly. Initially estimated to take four to five hours, the restoration process impacted scheduled services until completion.
