The renowned American rock band Foo Fighters has wrapped up work on a fresh record, as revealed by their lead vocalist Dave Grohl. Grohl hinted at the completion of a new album during the band’s Australian tour kick-off, indicating a potential release this year. The group’s latest album, ‘But Here We Are,’ was launched in 2023, and now fans can anticipate another collection of songs in the near future.
The band recently unveiled two new tracks, ‘Today’s Song’ and ‘Asking For A Friend,’ along with a live album titled ‘Are Playing Where?’ released in October. Despite guitarist Pat Smear’s absence due to a foot injury sustained in a peculiar gardening mishap, Foo Fighters commenced their Take Cover tour in Mexico. Jason Falkner, known for his work with Beck and St. Vincent, will step in for Smear during his recovery period.
In a light-hearted response to Smear’s injury, the band humorously recreated a magazine cover featuring the injured guitarist in a wheelchair with his bone scan displayed. The cover, reminiscent of a scene from the mockumentary ‘This Is Spinal Tap,’ playfully referenced the film’s fictional drummer’s demise in a similar gardening accident. The band’s Instagram post confirmed Smear’s injury and his temporary absence from upcoming shows for foot recovery.
