The accused, identified as Ije Ezekiel Njoku, a Nigerian national residing in Nalasopara, was apprehended in Khar under suspicious circumstances. He confessed during interrogation that he was carrying cocaine and MDMA tablets for sale. The seized drugs are suspected to be targeted at high-profile parties and youth in the city.
Following the recent drug-related deaths at a live concert in Mumbai, the police are on high alert. The recovered drugs, including cocaine and MDMA tablets, were intended for distribution within the city’s party circuit.
