Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had a conversation with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht Ravanchi, focusing on current regional events and bilateral cooperation. The Iranian Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, emphasized the significance of the Chabahar Port as a symbol of collaboration between the two nations. Despite challenges posed by US sanctions, Araghchi expressed optimism about India’s continued involvement in the strategic port’s development.
Tehran values its relationship with India, with both countries sharing mutual concerns and interests in the Persian Gulf. During his visit to India, Araghchi met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss various matters, including the Strait of Hormuz and the situation in West Asia.
