A team of experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) will return to the hotel in Malviya Nagar to conduct a detailed forensic examination following the fire that tragically claimed 21 lives. The FSL team inspected one floor of the hotel on Wednesday and will now continue examining the rest of the building.
The victims of the fire were found on the third floor and in the basement of the hotel. During the inspection, officials discovered electric stoves and other appliances in some rooms, indicating that long-term guests were using them for cooking. Most deaths were due to smoke inhalation rather than burns.
Investigators revealed that the hotel owner, Lavkesh Bajaj, operated the business without any partners. Delhi Police is intensifying its investigation, with multiple teams searching for the hotel manager, Jai Mishra, who is currently missing. The police have reached out to various agencies for assistance, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), BSES, and the South District Magistrate.
