Former AAP leader and educator Avadh Ojha suggested that Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has shown political growth but would benefit from a mentor and a robust team. Ojha emphasized the importance of a mentor to deepen Gandhi’s political understanding for independent decision-making.
He recommended that Gandhi establish a ‘Navratna’ team akin to historical governance models like those of Chandragupta Maurya and Akbar. Ojha highlighted the significance of a strong team in enhancing Gandhi’s success in politics. Ojha also praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his strong leadership and effective decision-making skills.
Regarding Shah’s comments on the decline of Maoism in India, Ojha viewed it as a significant development and a relief from a longstanding national issue. Drawing a comparison between Amit Shah and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Ojha commended Shah’s political approach and decision-making abilities, likening him to an “Iron Man.”
Looking ahead to the West Bengal Assembly elections in 2026, Ojha noted the BJP’s determined stance to challenge the incumbent government. He highlighted the growing desire for change among voters and the BJP’s focus on issues like illegal immigration from Bangladesh. Ojha suggested that a change in government is plausible due to the electorate’s desire for a shift in leadership.
Ojha, known for his civil services exam training, reflected on his past electoral experience and retirement from politics after contesting in the Delhi Assembly elections. He praised AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal as a remarkable leader in his farewell message.
