In a significant political move before the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu, former AIADMK Minister Nilofar Kafeel is set to join the DMK in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The induction will occur at a training camp for DMK northern zone leaders in Tirupattur, with the event expected to mark her official entry into the ruling party.
Earlier on the same day, Nilofar Kafeel resigned from AIADMK, submitting her resignation letter to AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami. She mentioned her long association with the party but cited personal circumstances as the reason for leaving. Nilofar Kafeel had represented the Vaniyambadi Assembly constituency and served as Minister for Labour Welfare during the previous AIADMK regime.
Her decision to switch parties is seen as a significant development in the political scenario of the Vellore region, especially in Tirupattur and Vaniyambadi, where she enjoys support. This move is anticipated to impact local dynamics leading up to the next elections in Tamil Nadu.
