Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy refuted allegations made by the TDP-JSP coalition regarding the state’s economic performance. Reddy pointed to recent RBI statistics, which ranked Andhra Pradesh highly in manufacturing and industry sectors from 2019 to 2024.
Reddy emphasized that despite claims of economic decline under his leadership, the RBI data positioned Andhra Pradesh as a top performer in manufacturing in South India and ranked fifth in the country. Similarly, the state excelled in the industry sector, securing the top spot in South India and eighth nationally during the same period.
Meanwhile, YSR Congress Party leader Ambati Rambabu criticized Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for his aggressive and confusing speeches. Rambabu accused Kalyan of diverting attention from governance to protect Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, using language unbecoming of a constitutional office holder.
Rambabu alleged that Kalyan’s attacks stem from fear of potential repercussions once the YSRCP regains power, particularly in relation to a government medical colleges privatization scandal. He accused Chandrababu Naidu of attempting to privatize public assets meant for the poor and questioned Kalyan’s involvement in the alleged scam.
