Former Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath has criticized the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government, labeling its fiscal management as poor. Rajendranath claimed that the state is currently facing the highest revenue deficit in the country at Rs 60,285 crore for the 2024–25 financial year.
In an interview, Rajendranath disputed the government’s portrayal of the state’s financial well-being. He pointed out that Andhra Pradesh’s tax revenue growth has dropped to 1.97 percent, ranking the state 22nd nationwide, behind smaller states like Sikkim and Meghalaya.
Rajendranath challenged the ruling coalition’s assertions that the previous government mismanaged the economy before the elections. He cited official figures from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to support his claims.
