Former Andhra Pradesh minister and YSR Congress Party leader Gudivada Amarnath attended a meeting with the State Women’s Commission regarding his comment about Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha. He clarified that his statement calling Anitha a “make-up minister” was a form of political satire aimed at her performance, not women in general. Amarnath emphasized his respect for women and his adherence to constitutional and legal principles.

During the meeting, Amarnath defended his remarks and affirmed his innocence, standing by his earlier statements. He highlighted Anitha’s derogatory comments towards former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP members, pointing out her alleged negligence of duties as Home Minister. Amarnath also addressed the issue of Anitha’s use of a bulletproof vehicle, drawing attention to her current ministerial role.

Questioning the Home Minister’s priorities, Amarnath criticized Anitha’s silence on issues like crimes against women and children, missing children cases, and attacks on female public figures. He underscored his personal background, being raised by women and having daughters, as a testament to his respect for women. Amarnath warned of a strong response from YSRCP to future personal attacks and expressed confidence in the political decline of the coalition government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
