Investigations into the death of former BJP Mandal President Devendra Rajput have uncovered a planned murder plot camouflaged as a road accident, as per police officials. Initially presumed to be a collision with a Scorpio on the Damoh-Sagar State Highway, it is now disclosed that three individuals conspired to deliberately run over Rajput near the Horticulture Department office. The incident, occurring in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district, was initially mistaken for a tragic traffic mishap.
Witnesses reported that the Scorpio driver not only struck the victim but also reversed the vehicle to ensure a fatal outcome before fleeing the scene. Devendra Rajput succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Further investigation, including CCTV footage and eyewitness testimonies, contradicted the initial accident theory. The discovery of an abandoned Scorpio on the Jabalpur Bypass road provided a crucial lead for the Police team.
Superintendent of Police Anand Kaladgi formed a special team to pursue the suspects after visiting the crime scene personally. A murder case was formally registered against the unidentified individuals, leading to the arrest of two suspects within a day. The third suspect remains at large. The community is shocked by the revelation that the perpetrators used a highway collision to mask their premeditated crime. Authorities are diligently working to apprehend the remaining culprit.
