Former Delhi BJP President and MLA from Malviya Nagar constituency, Satish Upadhyay, has initiated a unique trend by accepting notebooks, pens, geometry boxes, and textbooks from his supporters at public events. He urged trader associations, organizations, and supporters in his constituency to greet him with stationery items instead of traditional gifts like garlands and scarves. Upadhyay emphasized the importance of providing stationery to students in government schools, highlighting the disparity between extravagant welcomes for leaders and the basic needs of underprivileged students.

Upadhyay expressed his preference for practical gifts over symbolic gestures, stating that the stationery items received would be distributed to children in MCD and Delhi government schools. He underscored the significance of supporting students who require assistance in acquiring essential educational materials. The former BJP President’s decision to eschew floral garlands and gifts aims to address the ongoing need for stationery items among school children in his constituency.

The initiative was launched at a program organized by the Malviya Nagar Main Market, where Upadhyay was welcomed with notebooks, pens, geometry boxes, and similar items. In addition to this gesture, Upadhyay recently inaugurated two Atal Canteens in the Begumpur area of his constituency. These canteens, part of a Delhi government initiative, offer subsidized and nutritious meals for Rs 5, catering to the dietary needs of daily wage workers and the less fortunate.
