Former England spinner Graeme Swann commended Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for posing a significant challenge to England’s bowling attack in the upcoming India T20I series. Swann highlighted Sooryavanshi’s ability to tackle every challenge thrown at him, making it tough for bowlers to contain him.
Swann mentioned that Jofra Archer, due to his IPL experience with Sooryavanshi, might have a slight edge in understanding the young batter’s game. Despite some bowlers having encountered Sooryavanshi in the IPL, preparing for him remains a complex task due to his limited international exposure and extensive franchise cricket background.
According to Swann, England lacks a clear strategy to dismiss the talented left-hander as Sooryavanshi has proven to be a formidable opponent for bowlers. He emphasized that even with video footage available, no one has been able to crack the code against him so far.
Identifying Archer as a potential threat to Sooryavanshi, Swann highlighted Archer’s familiarity with the youngster’s playing style. He suggested that Archer, having observed Sooryavanshi closely, might have insights and plans to challenge him, supported by his exceptional pace on the field.
Swann acknowledged that despite Archer’s advantage, there are no guarantees of success against Sooryavanshi, given the batter’s impressive track record against top-quality bowling attacks. Sooryavanshi has consistently found solutions against renowned bowlers, showcasing his adaptability and skill in the cricketing arena.
