Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda visited Panchkula to meet with youth on an indefinite hunger strike protesting the Haryana Public Service Commission’s recruitment of non-local candidates. Hooda expressed solidarity with the fasting youth, emphasizing the legitimacy of their demands for fair job opportunities for Haryanvi candidates.
The protesting youth, demanding an end to HPSC’s alleged recruitment irregularities, have seen a decline in their health as they continue their strike in challenging conditions. Hooda urged the government to address the grievances promptly and halt the hunger strike to prevent further health deterioration among the protesters.
Highlighting the government’s negligence towards local job seekers, Hooda criticized the preference for outsiders in Class A and B job appointments. He called for the immediate filling of vacant positions, particularly those reserved for Backward Class and Scheduled Caste categories, stressing the need to eliminate the 35% criteria hindering recruitment and denying opportunities to Haryana’s youth.
Assuring the fasting candidates of the Congress party’s unwavering support, Hooda pledged to champion their cause both within the legislative assembly and through street demonstrations. He underscored the urgency of initiating the recruitment process for the deliberately vacant positions to address the growing frustration among the protesting youth.
