Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur criticized the Congress-led state government for allegedly misusing administrative power to influence Panchayati Raj and urban local body elections. Thakur claimed that despite efforts to delay the elections, they were held following court orders.
Thakur accused the government of intentionally delaying the appointment of key local body leaders to enable unethical practices like horse-trading. He highlighted BJP’s significant wins in various elections, indicating public discontent with the ruling Congress.
Thakur further alleged that the state government is obstructing election processes in areas where the BJP holds a majority. He raised concerns about government intimidation tactics against BJP-backed representatives and vowed legal action against such actions.
