Former India captain Mithali Raj commended the Mumbai Indians’ strong performance, highlighting the key roles played by Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt in their recent victory over the Delhi Capitals. The Mumbai Indians secured a convincing 50-run win, propelled by Harmanpreet’s unbeaten 74 off 32 balls and Sciver-Brunt’s composed 70 off 46 deliveries. Raj particularly praised Harmanpreet’s clean shots and strategic play during the match.

Sciver-Brunt’s contribution was also lauded by Raj, who emphasized the importance of her form in the Mumbai Indians’ lineup. Raj noted that while Sciver-Brunt may have quieter games, her impactful innings are always anticipated. The former captain highlighted the team’s reliance on Sciver-Brunt’s performance for success, emphasizing her crucial role in the squad.

Reflecting on the match, Raj pointed out the contrast between the Mumbai Indians’ strong batting display and the Delhi Capitals’ collapse. She highlighted the pivotal performances of the experienced players in the Mumbai Indians’ middle order and expressed disappointment in the Delhi Capitals’ inability to build a substantial partnership at the top of the order. Raj emphasized the significance of a strong start in a run chase, which the Delhi Capitals failed to achieve.

Former New Zealand cricketer Katey Martin also praised the Mumbai Indians’ bowling improvements against the Delhi Capitals. Martin commended the bowlers for their strategic adjustments, particularly noting the effectiveness of players like Amelia Kerr and Nicola Carey. She highlighted the team’s improved execution and planning, which contributed to their comprehensive victory over the Delhi Capitals.
