Former Karnataka Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai expressed that the opposition’s attempt to politicize the LPG issue stems from frustration. He highlighted the impact of the West Asia conflict on global problems and reassured that there would be no LPG shortage if people remain calm. Bommai, speaking at a press conference at the BJP state office, emphasized that the LPG supply challenge is not exclusive to Karnataka but affects multiple states, attributing it to disruptions in supplies from Qatar and other Arabian countries.
Due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and India’s diplomatic efforts, Bommai commended the country’s consistent crude oil supply. He contrasted the current situation with the past, recalling challenges during the Iraq war era under the Congress-led government. Bommai credited PM Modi’s leadership for the absence of similar issues today, noting a 25% increase in domestic production to mitigate concerns. Responding to Congress’s stance on the matter, Bommai criticized the party for opposing national interests and alleged a pattern of hindering positive developments.
Bommai further scrutinized the state budget, emphasizing the importance of effective fund utilization for development. He raised concerns about funds allocated for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes being redirected to guarantee schemes, labeling the budget as counterproductive. Accusing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of misleading the public, Bommai predicted that the truth behind fund usage would eventually surface. The press conference also saw the presence of MP Govind Karjol, former Ministers B. Sriramulu, Raju Gowda, Shivanagouda Nayak, and BJP State ST Morcha President Bangaru Hanumanthu.
