Former Karnataka minister and senior BJP leader B. Sriramulu has urged the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the alleged security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent Bengaluru visit. Sriramulu, speaking at the BJP’s state headquarters in Bengaluru, criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government for failing to ensure adequate security for the Prime Minister. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high security standards for the Prime Minister, questioning any lapses during his Karnataka visit.
Sriramulu accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G. Parameshwara of not prioritizing PM Modi’s security as the leader of the entire nation. He highlighted the security threat perception surrounding the Prime Minister and criticized the state government for what he perceived as a lack of understanding in this regard. Referring to the discovery of gelatin sticks near the Prime Minister’s convoy route, Sriramulu raised concerns about the timing of the transfer of around 100 police inspectors by the state government.
The BJP leader alleged that the Congress party was displeased with the BJP’s recent electoral victories and accused the Karnataka government of showing disregard for the Prime Minister’s safety. Responding to criticism of PM Modi’s appeal for restraint in gold purchases and fuel consumption, Sriramulu criticized Congress leaders for their negative reactions. He defended the Prime Minister’s statement, attributing it to the challenging global situation affecting fuel imports and economic stability.
Sriramulu praised PM Modi’s leadership, asserting that India had gained international respect under his administration. He highlighted the importance of promoting awareness and initiatives like Make in India through responsible consumption practices. Sriramulu criticized Congress leaders for their alleged lack of understanding regarding the economic context and emphasized the positive impact of PM Modi’s governance on India’s economic condition.
