Former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) of Madhya Pradesh, late Dr. P.B. Gangopadhyay was posthumously awarded the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his significant contributions to the state’s forests. The award was presented by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during the Indian Forest Service (IFS) meet -2026 in Bhopal.
Dr. Gangopadhyay, who passed away in 2011, held various key positions in the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department and the Government of India. He was known for his dedication to conservation, administration, and mentorship, emphasizing professionalism and ethical conduct.
The conference at Noronha Administrative Academy was attended by several IFS officers and their families. Chief Minister Yadav commended the forest department’s efforts, highlighting achievements like the reintroduction of cheetahs in Kuno National Park and the successful release of gharials and crocodiles in rivers.
Madhya Pradesh Forest and Environment Minister of State, Dilip Singh Ahirwar, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests V.N. Ambade, and other forest officers were also present at the event, which aims to foster professional dialogue and strengthen relationships among forest professionals.
