Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to various world leaders for their warm wishes on his achievement of becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. Leaders such as Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE, Seychelles President Patrick Herminie, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker, and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon were among those acknowledged by PM Modi for their congratulatory messages. PM Modi highlighted the strengthening of partnerships with these nations and expressed eagerness to collaborate for the mutual benefit of their people.
On June 10, PM Modi marked 12 years in office as India’s Prime Minister, surpassing the previous record held by Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehru’s tenure from 1952 onwards was considered for comparison, with PM Modi now holding the distinction of being the longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister in India’s history. His leadership spans from his initial swearing-in ceremony in 2014 through successive mandates in 2019 and a historic third consecutive term in 2024.
