Former Nepali Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is set to visit New Delhi to participate in an event organized by the Nepali diaspora community. The event, hosted by Nepali Society, India at the Lajpat Bhawan Auditorium, will have Prachanda addressing party supporters. His visit coincides with Nepal’s upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5, prompting many Nepalis abroad to return home to vote.
The purpose of Prachanda’s visit is to address the Nepali community, especially his party’s supporters, emphasizing unity among communist forces under the Nepali Communist Party. Haribol Gajurel, a senior party leader, highlighted the significance of conveying messages of unity through such gatherings. The merger of various leftist parties into the Nepali Communist Party last year aimed to strengthen political forces ahead of the elections.
Prachanda’s secretariat mentioned the event in New Delhi aims to foster mutual harmony, cooperation, and a shared future among the Nepali community. The gathering seeks to unite Nepalis in India, enhance social and political awareness, and address common concerns. Prachanda will discuss topics such as Nepal-India relations, challenges faced by the diaspora, and the importance of unity during the event.
