Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda slammed the Congress-led government in Karnataka, accusing them of targeting his family politically. He warned that their time would come and ridiculed Rahul Gandhi for focusing on alleged vote theft, which he claimed led to the Congress winning only six seats in Bihar.
Speaking at a large gathering in Hassan, Deve Gowda emphasized the strength of the Janata Dal (Secular) in the state. He highlighted the party’s resilience under the leadership of Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, countering attempts by the ruling Congress and its allies to weaken them through previous conventions in Hassan.
Deve Gowda expressed gratitude for the support shown at the event, sending a strong message to those in power. He assured that despite challenges, the party would persevere and work towards the development of the region, including projects like the IIT sanctioned during Kumaraswamy’s tenure.
The former PM also addressed allegations against MLA H.D. Revanna, emphasizing his dedication to the district’s progress. He criticized the actions taken against Revanna and his family, alleging rewards for those involved in attempts to undermine them.
Referring to his own legacy and contributions, Deve Gowda highlighted his initiatives for women’s reservation in local bodies and urged the state government to support Kumaraswamy’s efforts in industrial development.
