Former Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, praised the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, hailing it as a triumph for the persistent efforts led by Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi and numerous students associated with the CJP. Gehlot emphasized the significance of demanding accountability in the education system amidst ongoing paper leaks, highlighting the movement’s call for transparency.

Gehlot expressed satisfaction over the Prime Minister’s decision to accept Pradhan’s resignation, attributing it to the substantial public pressure that compelled the government to act. He noted that despite initial defense by Narendra Modi, the Minister had to step down in response to the public’s insistence on answerability and transparency within the education sector.

In response to Rahul Gandhi’s earlier statements advocating for Pradhan’s removal, Gehlot commended Gandhi’s steadfast support for students and their cause. He underscored the impact of democratic principles in influencing governmental actions, emphasizing the significance of public voices in shaping governance decisions.

Reflecting on past events, Gehlot criticized the government’s handling of student protests, citing instances of excessive force like the use of pellet guns and tear gas. He highlighted the government’s approach towards suppressing dissent and reiterated the importance of upholding democratic values in addressing grievances and concerns.

Concluding his remarks, Gehlot emphasized the victory of democracy over authoritarianism but stressed the ongoing nature of the struggle. He pledged to persist in advocating for justice for students, holding the responsible parties accountable, and restoring the integrity of India’s education system to ensure a better future for the youth.
