Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized the BJP government for alleged irregularities in the NEET (UG) examination, pointing out that the exam’s cancellation indicates widespread malpractice. The National Testing Agency (NTA) scrapped the NEET (UG) 2026 exam held on May 3, with new dates to be announced soon.
Gehlot accused the Rajasthan government of delaying action on the matter, affecting the future of numerous students. He praised the NTA’s decision to cancel the exam and involve the CBI for a fair investigation, emphasizing the importance of student welfare and integrity.
Highlighting previous incidents, Gehlot mentioned the BJP government’s handling of the OMR sheet scam to avoid tarnishing its image. He criticized the government’s initial silence on the NEET (UG) exam leak, stressing the need for transparency and accountability in such cases.
The Centre has entrusted the CBI with investigating the NEET exam allegations thoroughly. The NTA assured full cooperation with the CBI, offering all necessary support for the inquiry and reiterating its earlier communication on the NEET (UG) 2026 examination.
