Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for targeting the Congress party during an official government function in Ajmer. Gehlot emphasized that criticizing a political leader does not equate to opposing the nation. He labeled PM Modi’s comments as politically driven and unsuitable for a government platform, stressing that such events should prioritize public interest over political attacks.
Gehlot highlighted that using an official function to attack the Congress diverts attention from crucial governance issues. He urged the Prime Minister to uphold the dignity of constitutional offices and government platforms. Additionally, Gehlot accused the BJP government of neglecting vital state matters while indulging in political rhetoric, asserting that the people of Rajasthan are well-informed about the ground realities.
The former CM pointed out that PM Modi’s remarks in Ajmer showcased political desperation. He criticized the BJP government for failing to address significant state issues and engaging in narrow political gains. Gehlot questioned the Prime Minister’s focus, asking whether he was interested in nationwide initiatives like the ‘Right to Health’ or transformative decisions such as the Gig Workers Welfare Act and the Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Gehlot further criticized the government’s handling of the ERCP and the OMR sheet scam, urging PM Modi to prioritize stringent laws and investigations. He expressed disappointment over the BJP’s approach to governance in Rajasthan, highlighting the disconnect between promises and actions. Gehlot concluded by questioning the efficacy of the ‘Double Engine’ slogan in Rajasthan, suggesting a lack of substantive progress under the current administration.
