Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje highlighted the broader concept of violence, extending beyond physical harm to include emotional injury and heartbreak. Speaking at an event in Chhoti Khatu, Raje underscored Jainism’s core principle of non-violence, emphasizing that hurting someone emotionally also constitutes violence. She reflected on the common occurrence of broken hearts and hurt feelings in the realm of politics, stressing the importance of empathy and compassion in public life.
Raje shared a valuable lesson she learned from Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia, emphasizing the significance of not causing emotional harm to others. She expressed her commitment to following her mentor’s teachings. Additionally, Raje discussed the prevalence of injustice and the withholding of rightful entitlements, labeling such actions as unjust. Addressing the fast-paced nature of modern life, she suggested that dedicating time to spiritual reflection could help navigate life’s challenges more effectively.
At the event, Yugpradhan Acharya Mahashraman emphasized the essential role of values in daily life, advocating for morality, goodwill, and freedom from addictions as key components of one’s character. Praising Vasundhara Raje’s conduct, Acharya Mahashraman commended her as a respectful public figure who upholds cultural traditions by choosing to sit on the floor rather than a chair in the presence of religious leaders. Raje was also honored by the Mahashraman Maryada Mahotsav Committee for her contributions to public service and exemplary behavior.
