Formal preparations are underway for the return of former Rajasthan minister Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya to the Congress party. Malviya recently met with Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Govind Singh Dotasra to finalize his re-entry following approval from the Congress high command.
A grand public event is expected to take place in Banswara where Malviya will formally rejoin the Congress by taking membership. The event is being positioned as a significant political move to strengthen the party’s tribal support base in southern Rajasthan.
Malviya anticipates the participation of senior Congress leaders at the Banswara event, including former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, and other prominent party figures. He also mentioned that individuals who had previously left the Congress with him are likely to return from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Malviya’s comeback follows the Congress Disciplinary Committee’s recommendation for his re-induction, which was approved by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge. His return is deemed politically important, especially in the tribal-dominated areas of Rajasthan.
