Former Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president K. Annamalai has revealed that his recently launched political movement, “We The Leaders,” has amassed nearly 1.7 million members in just three days. This surge in membership is seen as a strong sign of public backing for political change in the state. Annamalai expressed gratitude to supporters for the overwhelming response to the movement, aimed at bringing about political transformation in Tamil Nadu.
The movement, which Annamalai described as the initial step of a larger journey, is expected to evolve into a significant political entity in the state. He mentioned that organizational activities are underway, with plans to identify and allocate responsibilities to qualified individuals within the movement. Emphasizing that the focus currently lies on expanding the membership base, Annamalai clarified that no permanent positions will exist initially.
Annamalai cautioned followers against unauthorized groups using his name and image for their own agendas. He highlighted instances where entities like Annamalai Anbu Koottam, Annamalai Charitable Foundation, and Annamalai People’s Movement falsely associated themselves with his political initiative. Annamalai urged these groups to cease using his identity and branding, directing potential members to register exclusively through the official website, WeTheLeader.org.
