Former Tamil Nadu BJP President, K. Annamalai, emphasized that he does not want to politicize the legal matter involving actor-turned-politician Vijay and his wife Sangeetha. Annamalai stated that it is a personal issue that should be left to the concerned parties and the courts. He mentioned reports of a petition filed in December regarding Vijay’s wife, now surfacing in the Chengalpattu court.
Annamalai stressed that the situation should be seen as a private affair between Vijay, his wife, and the legal system. He expressed his reluctance to turn it into a political matter. However, he indicated his readiness to address Vijay’s political statements if required. Annamalai acknowledged the public scrutiny that comes with entering politics, noting the inevitable examination of personal lives once in the public eye.
Highlighting the challenges faced by individuals transitioning from the film industry to politics, Annamalai referenced figures like Chiranjeevi and M.G. Ramachandran (MGR). He underscored the differences between enjoying stardom as an actor and the demands of a political career. Annamalai concluded by stating his stance of refraining from criticizing or discussing Vijay’s personal life, emphasizing that his political agenda does not involve meddling in private matters.
