Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin criticized the State government’s decision to rename the prominent ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme as ‘Thiran Tamil Nadu’. Stalin expressed concerns that any alteration or discontinuation of the program could impede the progress of the State’s youth.
Stalin emphasized that changing the name of the scheme or removing it from social media platforms would not diminish its accomplishments or the gratitude of the numerous beneficiaries whose lives were positively impacted by it. He highlighted the scheme’s significant role in empowering students and job seekers across Tamil Nadu, stating that its impact goes beyond mere nomenclature.
The initiative, according to Stalin, aimed to bridge the gap between education and employment by offering students career guidance, industry-specific training, and skill development opportunities. He underscored that the scheme had successfully enhanced the employability of thousands of young individuals, enabling them to pursue better career prospects.
Stalin cautioned against any actions that could weaken the program, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing youth empowerment regardless of political differences. He argued that impeding an initiative designed to assist students and job seekers would hinder the progress of Tamil Nadu’s younger generation, stressing that the welfare of the State’s youth should not be compromised.
