Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has informed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the phone-tapping case that he is unavailable for questioning on Friday and has requested an alternative date. This communication followed the issuance of a notice to K. Chandrasekhar Rao by the SIT, with the former CM citing his involvement in the ongoing municipal elections as the reason for his unavailability.
K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the head of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), highlighted that the nomination process for the municipal elections is currently ongoing, with the deadline for nominations set for January 30. He expressed his engagement in authorizing individuals for the party-based elections and requested the SIT to reschedule his examination under Section 160 of the Cr P C at his residence in Erravalli village, Siddipet district.
In his response to the investigating officer, K. Chandrasekhar Rao emphasized that as per the law, individuals above 65 years are not obligated to visit the Police Station for questioning. He reiterated his willingness to cooperate fully with the investigation and specified his preferred examination location.
