Former Trinamool Congress legislator, Humayun Kabir, who recently launched his own political party and is running in the assembly elections, has approached the Calcutta High Court. He is seeking an investigation into a video clip released by Trinamool Congress. The clip allegedly shows Kabir discussing a Rs 1,000 crore deal with the BJP to influence minority votes in favor of the saffron party.

Kabir has dismissed the video as fake and AI-generated, accusing Trinamool Congress of purposely tarnishing his image before the elections. He has filed a petition with the Calcutta High Court, requesting a probe into the origins and motives behind the video clip.

The petition has been accepted and is scheduled for a hearing on April 22. Kabir has vowed to take legal action against those responsible for what he calls a planned political conspiracy. Following the video’s release, Kabir faced repercussions, including the withdrawal of support from the AIMIM party for the upcoming West Bengal assembly polls.
