Sujit Bose, a former minister in the previous Trinamool Congress-led cabinet in West Bengal, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his alleged involvement in a multi-crore municipalities’ job case. Bose, who lost in the recent West Bengal Assembly polls, was taken into custody after an 11-hour interrogation by the ED officials.
Accompanied by his son, Samudra Bose, Sujit Bose had visited the ED’s office earlier for questioning in the same case. Despite previous appearances before the ED, he was allowed to leave after lengthy interrogations. However, this time, Bose was arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation.
The ED, along with central forces, conducted searches at various locations associated with Bose, including his residence, office, and his son’s restaurant. Bose had criticized the ED’s actions during the election period, claiming the investigation was politically motivated. He had denied any involvement in selling jobs for money.
