Former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb highlighted the unique situation where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to govern both the Centre and West Bengal after over five decades, foreseeing a boost in the state’s progress. Deb, who actively participated in the Bengal Assembly elections and campaigned extensively, expressed these views upon his return to Tripura following the election results. He emphasized the significance of this political development during his visit to the historic Mata Tripura Sundari temple in Udaipur.
Deb credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s leadership for uniting party members towards the common goal of defeating the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal. He noted the people’s desire for change in West Bengal due to past governance issues under different regimes. Thousands of supporters welcomed Deb in Agartala, showcasing the party’s growing strength and unity.
The former Chief Minister stressed the importance of the political shift in West Bengal for national security, alleging that the previous administration failed to safeguard citizens’ interests. He viewed the election outcome as a liberation for the people, restoring democratic confidence and enhancing national integrity. Deb also expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Modi for the decisive victory and emphasized the BJP’s commitment to the country’s welfare.
