Former Union Minister R.C.P. Singh marked Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja by visiting Patel Hostel in Patna, offering prayers to Goddess Saraswati, and engaging with students.
Despite the religious occasion, discussions about his political future remained a focal point. Senior JD-U leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, had recently dismissed any chances of R.C.P. Singh rejoining the party.
When questioned about Lalan Singh’s statements, R.C.P. Singh responded in a composed and philosophical manner without directly addressing anyone. He emphasized the importance of using language that brings positivity and good fortune, especially in public life.
While refraining from direct confrontations, R.C.P. Singh subtly criticized harsh political rhetoric, highlighting the impact of words when spoken with grace and wisdom. He advised leaders to express even the strongest opinions with respect and dignity, drawing parallels to the influence of Goddess Saraswati on speech.
R.C.P. Singh’s ambiguous response to queries about his return to JD-U, coupled with Lalan Singh’s firm stance, suggests ongoing resistance within the party regarding his potential re-entry. Singh has previously emphasized his close ties with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
