An FIR has been filed against former West Bengal Sports Minister Aroop Biswas at Bidhannagar South police station for his alleged involvement in the vandalism at Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Salt Lake during Lionel Messi’s GOAT India Tour on December 13 last year. The FIR was registered based on a complaint by the main organizer of the event, Satadru Dutta, on May 17.
Dutta accused Biswas of offenses under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to black marketing of tickets, extortion, criminal intimidation, and cheating. The Bidhannagar Commissionerate may soon summon the former minister for questioning, as per the police.
Satadru Dutta, through social media, confirmed the FIR against Aroop Biswas and thanked the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Sports Minister, and DGP of the state. He alleged that Biswas had black-marketed around 22,000 tickets for the Messi event, leading to the initiation of an investigation by Bidhannagar South Police Station.
The complaint also involves Trinamool Congress councillor Jui Biswas and former DGP Rajeev Kumar. Dutta accused Aroop Biswas of breaching security protocols, endangering Messi, and disrupting the event. He demanded swift action against all accused parties.
