Former world junior champion Komalika Bari from Jharkhand secured the recurve women’s archery gold medal at the Khelo India Tribal Games. In the men’s category, Odisha’s Arjun Khara emerged victorious. Despite their efforts, Karnataka maintained their lead in the medals tally on the final day of the event.
The Khelo India Tribal Games saw participation from 30 states and union territories, with close to 3800 athletes competing across nine sports disciplines. Karnataka topped the medals tally with 23 gold medals, followed by Odisha with 21 gold medals. Jharkhand secured the third position with 16 gold medals.
Hosts Chhattisgarh displayed their sporting talent by winning 3 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze medals. Karnataka dominated the swimming events with 15 gold medals and also excelled in athletics and wrestling. Karnataka’s Manikanta L and Odisha’s Anjali Munda were among the standout performers.
In archery, Jharkhand’s Komalika Bari and Odisha’s Arjun Khara claimed gold medals. Odisha stood out by winning gold across various disciplines. The event showcased the diverse talent pool in India, with Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh also securing top positions in the medals tally.
