Four individuals lost their lives, and more than a dozen others sustained injuries following the collapse of roofs in Zhob and Khuzdar regions of Balochistan, Pakistan, due to heavy monsoon rains. The incidents occurred near Bacha Khan School and in Shamsi Colony in Zhob, where two mud houses’ roofs caved in after the downpour. A woman and two children perished in the tragedy, with around twelve family members suffering injuries.

Pre-monsoon rains disrupted daily life in various parts of Balochistan, leading to damages such as flash floods affecting inter-district roads and destruction of homes, crops, and infrastructure due to the intense rainfall. Rescue operations were promptly initiated by police, district administration officials, and rescue teams at the sites of the incidents. The injured individuals were evacuated and transported to the District Headquarters Hospital in Zhob for medical attention, with severe cases being referred to Quetta for specialized treatment.

In Khuzdar district, one child was killed, and four others were injured in a rain-related incident. Reports indicated that heavy rains and thunderstorms caused damage to mud houses, uprooted trees, and toppled billboards in various parts of Balochistan. The adverse weather conditions also led to disruptions in power supply across several areas of Balochistan, including Quetta.

Rescue 1122 reported that two fatalities and nine injuries resulted from rain-related incidents in Punjab within the past 24 hours. The casualties were attributed to incidents such as wall collapses, roof cave-ins, and billboard collapses caused by strong winds and heavy rainfall. Emergency response teams promptly attended to the affected individuals, providing necessary medical care and hospital transportation.
