At least four people lost their lives, and one person sustained injuries in a tragic accident on the Kolkata-Chennai national highway near Gandigundam in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam district. The car they were traveling in collided with a lorry, resulting in the fatalities. The victims, including P. Ramanjaneyulu, Sheikh Meera Vali, M. Bhavani Shankar, and the driver Srinu, were on their way to a wedding in Srikakulam district when the accident occurred.
M. Chandrasekhar, another occupant of the car, was injured and has been hospitalized in Bheemili for treatment. The car, driven at high speed, attempted to overtake a lorry near Anandapuram in Visakhapatnam district, leading to the collision. Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the bereaved families. State Home Minister V. Anita also conveyed her sympathies and assured support to the affected families.
The tragic incident has shocked the local community, with officials working to provide the best medical care to the injured. The government officials have been directed to ensure that Chandrasekhar receives necessary medical attention. The ministers emphasized the importance of road safety and urged everyone to strictly follow traffic regulations to prevent such accidents in the future.
