At least four individuals, three of whom were women, tragically lost their lives in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru district after being struck by a train. The incident occurred near Chebrol in Ungutur mandal late on Saturday night. Authorities reported that a man and three women were fatally crushed under the Cherlapalli-Shalimar special train.
The bodies of the victims were severely damaged, making identification challenging. Upon receiving the news, Government Railway Police (GRP) from Tadepalligudem promptly responded to the scene and relocated the bodies for further procedures. Initial investigations suggest that the deceased, aged between 30 and 35, may have been from the same family and potentially died by suicide.
Noteworthy items, including an ATM card registered to Sheikh Haseena and a bike parking receipt from the Tadepalligudem RTC depot, were found on the victims. Additionally, two mobile phones recovered from the site were damaged, prompting authorities to attempt data retrieval from the SIM cards to establish the identities of the deceased. The bodies were transferred to the Tadepalligudem area hospital for post-mortem examinations by GRP personnel.
A separate incident in Nalgonda district of Telangana claimed the lives of four individuals in a road accident early Sunday morning. The tragedy unfolded on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway near Peddakaparthi village in Chityal mandal when a private travel bus collided with a car. Unfortunately, all four occupants in the car, including V.V. Prasad’s wife, son, daughter, and friend, lost their lives at the scene.
Authorities revealed that the victims, hailing from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh but residing in Hyderabad, were en route from Chennai to Hyderabad when the fatal collision occurred. The accident resulted in a temporary traffic disruption on the national highway, with police and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) swiftly restoring normal traffic flow after utilizing a crane to clear the wreckage.
