Four police officers in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, were suspended due to public outrage over the discovery of banned meat. The Joint Commissioner of Police, Ashutosh Kumar, mentioned that a video circulating online showed the prohibited meat and bones, sparking anger among the public. Despite the tense situation, senior officers swiftly intervened to control the matter.
Members of various Hindu organizations gathered at the site, raising slogans in response to the incident. To address the issue and maintain peace, security forces were deployed in the area. Two individuals have been arrested so far, with ongoing investigations suggesting that the case may not involve animal slaughter but rather the collection of bones and flesh.
In response to the negligence displayed, four police personnel were suspended for failing in their duties. The situation has now been brought under control, with peace restored in the area. Efforts are ongoing to uphold law and order and prevent any further disturbances. Additional police personnel, including the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), have been stationed to ensure the maintenance of peace and order.
