Four students tragically lost their lives, and one was critically injured in a car accident near Hyderabad during birthday celebrations. The incident took place in Mirzapur, Mokila of Rangareddy district. The group of students was on their way back to Hyderabad from Mokila after celebrating one of the student’s birthdays.

The deceased students included three studying BBA at ICFAI Business School (IBS) in Mokila and one from MGIT. The victims were identified as Surya Teja (20), Sri Nikhil (20), Rohit (18), and Sumeet (20), who was driving the SUV. Sumeet and Nikhil were third-year BBA students at ICFAI Business School, while Surya Teja was in the second year and Rohit was from MGIT.

The SUV, driven by Sumeet, crashed into a tree at high speed, resulting in the immediate death of four occupants and leaving the fifth, Nakshatra, critically injured. Nakshatra, a third-year BBA student at ICFAI Business School, was rushed to the hospital, where her condition remains critical. The police are investigating whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol during the accident.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to a government hospital in Chevella for post-mortem examinations. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident. Hyderabad and its surroundings have witnessed similar accidents in the recent past involving students crashing their vehicles during outings or celebrations. Law enforcement agencies in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda commissionerates have been actively working to curb drunk driving, especially during nighttime.
