A tragic incident occurred in Bengaluru North taluk where a four-year-old girl lost her life in a road accident involving a speeding canter vehicle on Saturday. The child, identified as Nishika, was hit by the canter lorry in Hanumanthegowdanapalya near Nelamangala town on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Her mother and younger sibling, who were with her, escaped unharmed.

The accident took place as the family was walking to the Anjaneya Swamy temple in Gollahalli after celebrating Ugadi. The canter lorry, allegedly speeding on a narrow road, struck the child in front of her mother. Despite the mother and the younger child managing to avoid harm, Nishika tragically lost her life at the scene.

Following the incident, local residents gathered at the spot, vandalized the lorry, and confronted the driver before handing him over to the police. The authorities have registered a case at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station, taken the driver and the vehicle into custody, and initiated further investigations into the matter.
