French President Emmanuel Macron warmly greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon his arrival at the Group of Seven (G7) Summit in Evian, France. The leaders exchanged hugs and pleasantries before joining an outreach session attended by US President Donald Trump and other G7 leaders. PM Modi expressed eagerness to engage with global leaders and discuss key international issues during the summit.
PM Modi, invited by President Macron, marked India’s 13th participation in the G7 Summit and his seventh consecutive attendance. Earlier, in Geneva, Switzerland’s President Guy Parmelin welcomed PM Modi, emphasizing the commitment to strengthen bilateral relations. The leaders shared warm greetings and reaffirmed their partnership.
During the summit, PM Modi will participate in sessions focusing on forging new partnerships, sustainable economic growth, and efficient AI rollout. He plans to hold bilateral meetings with various world leaders on the summit sidelines. India’s consistent presence at the G7 reflects its growing role in addressing global challenges related to peace, security, and sustainability.
After his activities in Evian, PM Modi will head to Paris for bilateral engagements and the VivaTech Summit, Europe’s premier technology event. He is also scheduled to address the Indian community in Paris, as per the Ministry of External Affairs.
