A man and his wife from the Chiru Naga community were attacked near Joujangtek Forest Gate in Noney district while returning home from Imphal. The man, identified as Wilson Thanga, succumbed to his injuries, while his wife was seriously injured. The couple had sought refuge at Nungsai Khunthak before the attack occurred.

Following another attack in Kangpokpi district, security concerns have heightened in Manipur’s hill districts. Security forces responded to the incidents, but no official statement has been released regarding the attackers’ identity or the circumstances. Investigations are currently ongoing.

Unidentified armed men ambushed two vehicles in Kangpokpi district, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to four others. The victims, all Baptist Church leaders from the Kuki community, were targeted while traveling. The Kuki Inpi Manipur has called for a three-day total shutdown in Kuki-Zo inhabited areas to protest the killings.
