A Western Disturbance is becoming active over Rajasthan, leading to a new spell of weather activity. The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has issued an alert for thunderstorms, gusty winds, rainfall, and isolated hailstorms expected in the region over the next few days.
Officials have reported a cyclonic circulation forming over western Rajasthan, increasing the chances of intense thunderstorms, rain accompanied by wind speeds of 40-50 km/h, and isolated hailstorms in various districts. Light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are forecasted for isolated areas in Jodhpur, Bikaner divisions, and the Shekhawati region, while most parts of the state are likely to remain dry.
Thunderstorms with rain and strong winds (40-50 km/h) are anticipated in Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota divisions on Thursday. Additionally, isolated hailstorms may occur. Similar weather conditions are expected on March 20 in Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions, with thunderstorms, rain, strong winds, and chances of hailstorms. The weather is expected to turn dry on March 21.
Authorities have advised farmers to take precautions, especially those with crops ready for harvest, as light rainfall may return in isolated areas of the Bikaner division on March 22. Farmers are urged to cover or shift produce stored in open fields or agricultural mandis to prevent damage from rain and hail. The weather department will continue to provide updates as the system evolves.
The maximum temperature in Chittorgarh reached 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Sirohi was recorded at 13.5 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels in most parts of the state ranged between 32% and 76% based on observations from Wednesday.
